Roger Gerberding, from Council Bluffs, Iowa, will be The Red Barn Studio’s Artist-in-Residence from Sunday, August 26th through Saturday, September 8th. During his stay, Roger intends to work on portraits of his grandchildren and other family members among his imagined cityscapes and landscapes. He will also be continuing his research for an exhibition of Lester Raymer’s letters, scheduled for 2019. A multi-disciplinary and well-educated artist (Chicago Academy of Fine Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Goodman School of Drama), his work has appeared in innumerable one-person and group shows throughout the U.S. His most recent being displayed at the Noyes Gallery in Lincoln, NE. His illustrations have been featured nationally and internationally in magazines and some 90 books. His work in a variety of media is in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Wisconsin State Employment Bureau… and the Donald Andrei archives, Mark Alan Gilbert, Dick Cavett, Judy Collins, Kat Von D., Stephen King, the late Ray Bradbury, the late Patty Duke and others. Guests may visit with Roger and see his work during The Red Barn’s open hours, Tues thru Fri 10AM to 5PM and 1PM to 5PM Saturday.
