The weekend kicks off with the VIP Corn Cook-Off in Downtown Oakley on Friday, October 12th from 11 am - 2 pm. A reception and registration for cornhuskers is at the Buffalo Bill Cultural Center from 3 pm - 5 pm and cornhusking demonstration for new cornhuskers from 4 pm - 6 pm. Saturday, October 13th features the Kansas State Cornhusking Contest. Other activities for the family include; Corn Ear Throwing Contest, Corn Pile Money Hunt and a Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Contest for kids 5-12. 8 am - 4 pm. Concessions available.
