This event began in 1988, and occurs annually beginning on the third Friday, and ending the following Sunday of each July. Our organization's primary purpose is to stimulate patriotism, promote public understanding of the necessity of national security, and foster public appreciation of our national heritage. we also attempt to assist veterans who are having problems readjusting to post-military life, through voluntary professional & peer counseling. All events are open to the entire community. Military equipment and functions are usually displayed. These displays are always very popular with our attendees, and the participating military personnel who have attended. We also feature a car show, entertainment for the little ones, many vendors serving up food to apparel and other assorted items, live bands playing an assortment of musical styles, and two large fireworks programs to cover the evening hours on Friday & Saturday nights. We are a not-for-profit organization. Proceeds go to Veterans Benefit Programs such as Kansas Soldiers Homes, VA Hospitals, & Veteran related charitable causes. Kansas Honor Flights, & the Wounded Warrior Program are other examples of our recent donations.
