Come out and experience authentic horse-drawn haying and raking demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the field (weather permitting). Learn how the Spring Hill Farm and Stock Ranch was a self-sufficient operation in the 1880s. Visitor participation is encouraged to help pitch hay. Historic cooking demonstrations in the morning, just in time to feed the ranch hands. Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is located two miles north of Strong City on Kansas State Highway 177 (the Flint Hills National Scenic Byway) and is a unique public/private partnership between the National Park Service and The Nature Conservancy.
