Held weekly each Thursday from 4:30 to 7 p.m., the Garnett Farmers' Market is a weekly event that allows visitors to capture what is unique about Garnett and take a little bit of it home with them. Enjoy special "Chef Challenge" market events where area cooks gather items from this farmers market and make a fantastic meal and demonstrate right in front of you. There are annual salsa, chili and baking contests where the public samples and votes for their favorite. You'll find fresh, nutritious vegetables and locally raised and processed meat, including beef, chicken, eggs, elk and pork here. Buy your homemade baked items, noodles and freshly harvested honey too. You'll find herbs, garden plants and a variety of flowers; melons, blueberries, corn and squash in season. Crafts are common place. You'll find local Amish and Church of the Brethren make up a majority of the vendors here. Bring the whole family as there are small farm animals and pony rides!
