The Garnett Farmer's Market is an weekly event that allows visitors to capture what is unique about Garnett and take a little bit of it home with them. This market provides locally grown, fresh and nutritious vegetables and locally raised and processed meat, including beef, chicken, eggs, elk and pork. The community table encourages individuals who garden to bring their excess vegetables, flowers and such to sell at the market. Proactive in educating the public on where their food comes from, the Garnett Farmers Market shares recipes and food demonstrations on the many ways food purchased at market can be prepared at home. Seasonal food concessions are sold at the market, allowing visitors the option of dining at the market. Fresh baked breads, pies, cookies and homemade noodles are also available, much of which is made by local Amish and Church of the Brethren. Enjoy activities at the Garnett Farmers Market, including cooking contests, children's art, kids games and petting zoo.
