Laura Mendenhall has been birding since 2009 when she started work with the California Condor Recovery Program. A Kansas native, Laura graduated from K-State in 2009 with a BS in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology. She later went on to earn her Master's in Ecosystem Science and Conservation from Duke University and now works for U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Kansas. Laura's favorite Kansas birding spots include El Dorado State Park, Quivira NWR, Flint Hills NWR, Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, and any dirt roads crisscrossing the Flint Hills.
