Rail Trails in Kansas

From adventurous cycling with scenic views to casual, family-friendly rides, Kansas rail trails appeal to all levels of cycling – with the safety and convenience of being car-free!

Kansas already offers nearly 300 ever-increasing miles of rail trails. Our two longest rail trails – Prairie Spirit Trail and Flint Hills Trail State Park – meet in Ottawa in Eastern Kansas. They’re fun trails for a quick ride or an all-day adventure. These relatively flat trails provide a woodland canopy, a perfect shade during the hot summer months. You’ll ride through charming towns that welcome cyclists and hikers alike.
