The railroads brought people and commerce to Kansas and helped establish many towns on the prairie.
Kansans are proud of this heritage and is celebrated in events and museums throughout the state. The railroad boom is gone, but former depots are still full of life and used today as museums, tourist information centers, farmer's markets, even a theatre and a winery.
