The Southern Cheyenne tipi, Wichita grasslodge, and fully restored 1880 steam locomotive are just a few of the popular items featured in the award-winning museum exhibits. You will learn the story of Kansas from the earliest civilizations to the recent past. The Civil War, Kansas settlement, transportation and agriculture are among the many topics to explore. The Special Exhibits Gallery features changing exhibits. The Museum displays the original plane built and flown by albin Longren, an aviation builder in the early 1900s.
