The Junction City Little Theater is the longest running community theater in the state of Kansas. The JCLT began in 1949, under the vision and guidance of Bettina Coover. Coover was a vibrant intelligent and imaginative woman who became an integral part of the community, wherever she lived. In 1955, Bettina Coover, Betty Cleary, Mona Kessinger and Alma Hornbaker signed the documents of incorporation creating the Junction City Little Theater. In 2008, the Junction City Little Theater moved its offices to the newly renovated C.L. Hoover Opera House, where it opened its 301st production, Meredith Wilson's "The Music Man" to sell-out crowds. Located in historic Junction City, Kansas, the JCLT's mission is to enrich, educate and entertain their regional community by providing quality theatrical entertainment.
