Kansas Tourism's objective for the group tour market is to identify tour planners' needs for specific types of travel products and to educate operators on the diverse range of Kansas destinations and attractions. Kansas Tourism assists tour planners with opportunities to create and market individual and group tour packages throughout the state.
Group Tour Conventions & Travel Shows
To assist and motivate tour operators and travel agents to create group and individual tour packages, Kansas Tourism participates in group tourconventions and travel shows to identify operators' needs for specific types oftravel products, and to educate operators on the range and diversity ofdestinations, attractions, and group facilities in Kansas. Follow-up assistance is provided to tour operators to facilitate the development of pre-packaged tours.Industry opportunities: Leads received from appointments are available from Kelli Hilliard.
TourKANSAS is a statewide association of packaged travel suppliers founded to help tour planners execute successful Kansas tours. These travel suppliers include attractions, casinos, destination marketing organizations, hotels / motels, receptive operators, restaurants, transportation providers, and allied partners. TourKANSAS is the only statewide organization marketing directly to professional tour operators and group tour leaders domestically to increase the packaged travel market to Kansas.

Motorcoach Tracking Program
Kansas Tourism promotes to the group tour marketas we realize the economic benefit it provides Kansas. Research has shown that each passenger on a Kansas group tour spends an estimated $100 per person, per day in the community where they stay overnight. A group tour with 40 people, with one overnight stay represents $4,000 in economic impact in that Kansas community. A tracking programhas been created to provide the ability for state and local entities to compute a return on investment for group tour marketing.
