Display Advertising Campaign

Promote your destination's online placement of graphic or animated banner ads on websites that your target audience visits. Help increase awareness of your destination and generate traffic to your website. Get weekly reports tracking the number of impressions and website visits generated by your ads. Then send us the URL you'd like to drive people to and the ad creative (or have jones huyett Partners create it for you), and you'll be driving future visitors to your destination's website in no time!

Campaign Options & Costs

Awareness - An awareness campaign provides maximum reach for your budget allowing your ads to be seen across thousands of websites in 20+ of the leading ad networks. Costs $1.25 - $5/per thousand impressions (prices vary across networks, DMAs and inventory available) Minimum spend: $800/month for three months.

Behavioral - A behavioral campaign allows you to target your specific audience based on their online behaviors. Behavior options are as follows:

  • Entertainment - Includes sites like: Entertainment Weekly, MTV, People, ABC Family, TV Guide, CMT, TMZ and Entertainment Tonight. Costs $5-7.25/per thousand impressions (prices vary across networks, DMAs and inventory available). Minimum spend: $1,400/month for three months.  
  • Family Oriented - Includes sites like: BabyCenter, iVillage, MothersClick, ABC, Disney Family Travel, My Recipes and The Grocery Game. Costs $5-7.25/per thousand impressions (prices vary across networks, DMAs and inventory available). Minimum spend: $1,400/month for three months.
  • Food & Beverage - Includes sites like: AllRecipes.com, Food Network, Martha Stewart.com, Real Simple, Taste of Home and Eating Well. Costs $5 - $7.25/thousand impressions (prices vary across networks, DMAs and inventory available). Minimum spend: $1,400/month for three months. 
  • Sports - Includes sites like: Sports Illustrated, MLB.com, Men's Fitness, Golf.com, Bike Magazine, NBC Sports and College Sports Direct. Costs $5-7.25/thousand impressions (prices vary across networks, DMAs and inventory available). Minimum spend: $1,400/month for three months. 
  • Travel - Includes sites like: National Geographic, Travel Channel, Mapquest.com, HotelCoupons.com and Travel Adventures. Costs $5 - 7.25/thousand impressions (prices vary across networks, DMAs and inventory available). Minimum spend: $1,400/month for three months.

Production Requirements:

Provide animated .gif or .jpg files in the following sizes:

  • 300 pixels wide by 250 pixels tall
  • 728 pixels wide by 90 pixels tall
  • 160 pixels wide by 600 pixels tall

All .jpg files must be smaller than 30K each. Also include URL that the ad should drive people to. To be most effective it's highly recommended that this landing page have content on it that is specific to the content in your ad, not just the URL for your website's homepage.

Rich Media Advertising Campaign

Join the state this fall and spring to take your digital advertising to the next level with rich media ads. Engage potential visitors with many opportunities to interact with your destination's message - like having multiple ads combine into one! In your themed ad, you'll have the opportunity to select two links/tabs that could allow viewers to download a coupon, watch a video, view a slideshow, follow your social media profiles or more. You choose! Every ad will include a tab for viewers to request a Kansas Travel Guide. The fulfillment center will include your destination's travel information with an investment of $20,000 or more in the program).

Along with being highly engaging, these 300 x 250 rich media ads are extremely trackable. Each week you will receive performance reports showing the number of impressions and interactions generated by your ads (number of coupons downloaded, visitor information requested, videos watched, etc).

This ad program will consist of two 45-day campaigns, the first kicking off in September with fall messaging. The second campaign will be in the spring, starting in May in coordination with the state's TV campaign. These ads will be behaviorally targeted by the overall ad theme (arts/culture, hunting, discovery, history, etc.) and geo-targeted to reach people living in our drive markets including: Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Oklahoma and Nebraska.

To participate in the program, simply determine your investment level and contact Alissa Sheley to discuss the theme of your destination. She'll work with you to select the best engagement points possible and determine what creative assets the jhP teal will need to design your ad. All production and reporting will be done by jhP with creative costs includes as part of the program.*

*Ad creations costs include one round of revisions based on ad copy and basic creative assets(images, logos, video, etc.) provided by the destination. Ad functionality and design layout will be handled by jhP. Any custom photography, stock photography or video editing will incur additional costs. After discussing your thoughts with Alissa, she will provide a written estimate for ad production if it is above and beyond the scope outlined above.

Pay-per-click (PPC) Search Engine Marketing

Make sure your destination appears in search engine results by getting listed in the sponsored search section (top or right-hand side) for major search engine(s). Receive step-by-step directions to prep for your PPC campaign and consultation to help optimize your results. TravelKS's PPC partner, Madden Media, will help initiate and maintain your PPC campaign. You will receive monthly reporting detailing the traffic driven to your brand's website. Campaigns must be at least three months long, but can extend as long as you'd like.

Event E-Blasts

Promote your event in a monthly e-blast sent around the first of each month to 10,000 Kansas residents (subscribers to TravelKS.com). Events must be listed on TravelKS.com. Limited to eight events per e-blast. Must have a minimum of three participating events per month for e-blast to deploy.

Production Requirements

Each event can be promoted with a photo/logo and up to 400 characters of copy.

TravelKS.com Event & Web Listing

Promote your destination and events through a free listing on TravelKS.com. More than 1.4 million unique visitors came to the website in the last year.

Production Requirements

TravelGuidesFree.com

Join other Kansas destinations by placing your destination's travel guide on TravelGuidesFree.com for 12 months in the Kansas section and generate leads for your database. Visitors select travel guides they'd like to receive (these can be provided by mail or as digital downloads) while providing their contact information, email address, gender, household income, expected number of travels and expected travel dates.

All addresses have been checked with real-time physical address verification to ensure you're getting clean addresses for your database. Everyone requesting a travel guide will land on a confirmation page after submitting their request and will receive a confirmation email with links to your destination's website.

Cost: You're only charged for leads generated through the program at a cost of $0.99/lead for a maximum monthly total spend of $400. Any additional leads generated beyond that point (410 leads a month) are free.
