Details
Moore Ranch is a working ranch located near Dodge City. Moore Ranch allows guests to come out and experience the old west lifestyle they live everyday. The Moore's will be trailing some of their Texas Longhorn cattle to new pasture in July. Guests partake in driving the Longhorns over the prairie and behold some very beautiful and peaceful scenery. A chuckwagon comes along to fix grub in dutch ovens and brew coffee over the open fire. Relaxing under the stars in a bedroll or in cowboy teepees wraps up the day. This is a shorter drive for those who are a little concerned about sitting in the saddle for a long period of time. The first day consists of orientation and driving the cattle to new pasture. The second day, riders ride their mount back to the ranch. Horses are ranch horses, matched to the ability of the rider. For the rider with little or no experience, a gentle horse can be arranged. If the rider is quite experienced, Moore Ranch can provide a mount to fit your ability. There are no put-ons here. This is honest to goodness Cowboy life. Included in the cost is a horse, tack, equipment, all meals and lodging.
