The weekend kicks off with the VIP Corn Cook-Off in Downtown Oakley on Friday Oct 10. A reception and registration for cornhuskers is at the Buffalo Bill Cultural Center from 3 pm - 5 pm and cornhusking demonstration for new cornhuskers from 4 pm - 6 pm. Saturday features the Kansas State Cornhusking Contest, a Rural Life Demonstration Vendor Fair, Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Contest, Corn Ear Throwing Contest, Corn Pile Money Hunt, Biggest Pumpkin Contest and an antique engine display all taking place at the Buffalo Bill Cultural Center and Kansas State Corn Husking site. Girl's Day Out, LLC Craft Show and Open House is taking place at the Logan County 4-H Building. There will also be a Story Book Walk at the Oakley Public Library and a Scarecrow Display at the Fick Fossil & History Museum. Come to Oakley and join in the fun!
