Bricks, Broncs, & BBQ ~~ Kansas City Barbeque Society sancitioned event in Downtown Russell!!! 7am ~ Breakfast Vendors open 7am ~ Tailgate contestants arrive 7:30am ~ 5K-10K Fun Run- Walk Check-in at UMB Bank 8am ~ Fun Run-Walk Starts 9am ~ Tailgate contestant check-in corner of 8th & Kansas 9am-Noon ~ Flatland Car & Cycle Show registration 9am-5pm ~ "Chrome, Smoke & Flames" Exhibit at the Deines Cultural Center 10am ~ KCBS Judge's meeting 10am ~ Tailgate cook's meeting corner of 8th & Kansas 10am ~ Vendors open on Main Street 11am-1pm ~ Tailgate contest open fro public sampling $5 11am ~ Judging of chicken begins 11:30am ~ Judging of pork ribs begin 12pm ~ Judging of pork begin 12:30pm ~ Judging of brisket begins 3pm ~ Awards ceremony/iPad Giveaway There is a new event planned this year at the Bricks, Broncs, & BBQ. They are adding a local contest for local BBQ's! The entry fee is $25.00. Participants will set up just like tailgating and will cook their choice of meat. Prizes will be awarded for Best Meat, Best Decorated, and Locals Choice. The public will be able to purchase a small amount of the meat cooked and sample it and then they will vote on their favorite for Locals Choice.
