Many wonderful songwriters have come from Kansas, and we are on the hunt for the next one. Submit your original composition of a Kansas song for a chance to win this month. Entries will be judged by singer/songwriter Logan Mize, an up and coming Nashville star raised in Clearwater.
Mize is an artist with Big Yellow Dog Music and has opened for Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, Hank Williams, Jr., and others. Logan's song, "Mexicoma," was recorded by Bucky Covington on his album "Good Guys." Logan recently released his second CD, Nobody In Nashville, which charted at 49 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart.
Because of his Kansas roots, Mize is the perfect person to judge this contest. Extra bonus points if you sing your song for us, but that's not necessary. All that's needed is your imagination. Songs must be original compositions and submitted through email by April 5.
The winner will be announced April 15. The winner will get two tickets to Logan's show at the Russell Freedom Fest show on July 4, as well as a T-shirt, Koozie and CD. The runner up will get a CD. This is a great opportunity to put your work in front of a Nashville singer/songwriter.
Ready, set, compose!
