Samy’s also offers an extensive wine list and serves such international dishes as hummus, korma, lasagna and enchiladas.Try the delicious entrée and two side dishes below, then visit Samy’s for breakfast, lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch.Pan Seared Filet topped with Peppercorn Cream Sauce4 6-ounce filets (tenderloin)1 teaspoon seasoning salt2 tablespoons olive oil2 teaspoons minced shallots or minced red onion2 teaspoons minced garlic2 teaspoons green peppercorns (drained)1 teaspoon cracked black pepper1/2 cup bourbon whiskey2 cups beef broth1 1/2 cups heavy creamSeason filet. Preheat pan and add 1 teaspoon oil and gently place seasoned filet in pan. Cook 1-3 minutes on each side (depending on desired temperature), then remove from pan and set aside. Add remaining oil, then the shallots, garlic, green peppercorns and cracked pepper. Cook over medium heat until the garlic starts to brown. Caution: Add and flame the bourbon and deglaze the pan, making sure to scrape off the goodies stuck to the pan. Add beef broth and reduce to approximately 1 cup. Add cream and bring to a simmer while stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens slightly. Makes 4 servings.Bacon & Bleu Cheese Whipped Potato5 potatoes, peeled and chopped1/4 cup butter1/4 cup heavy cream1/4 cup bleu cheese crumbles1/4 cup bacon, chopped1/2 teaspoon saltDash pepperBoil or steam potatoes for 20-30 minutes until done. Drain and add butter, cream, salt and pepper and mix for 2-3 minutes. Add in bacon and bleu cheese crumbles and mix 1 more minute.Sautéed Green Beans1/2 pound fresh green beans1 tablespoon butterDash garlic pepperMelt butter over medium heat, add green beans and sauté 3-5 minutes.
