Off to see the Oz Museum

Dorothy might not have been from Wamego, but the town has claimed her as its own. There you will find the Oz Museum. It has become a great place to visit for anyone with a love of the 1939 classic movie or the fairy tales written by Frank Baum that inspired it. Since opening in 2003, the museum has grown in popularity to attract nearly 30,000 visitors a year.

Discover Priceless Moments with your Kids: The Kansas Children’s Discovery Center

My favorite moment on our family’s recent trip to the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center was standing outside a Plexiglas-walled room watching my 3-year-old paint his name. He still gets the “J” backwards most of the time, but the concentration on his little face while mixing colors and spreading wide strokes across his temporary canvass was a priceless sight to see.
